Bring the flavors of the holidays together in this warm and delicious dish. This simple recipe highlights our favorite seasonal flavors. Using fresh pears, juice, and wholesome rolled oats, the recipe can be made in individual ramekins or in a larger baking dish.

Baked Pear Oatmeal

Prep time: 15 minutes

Cook time: 35 - 45 minutes

Ingredients

3 cups water, milk, pear juice, or apple juice

2 eggs

½ cup brown sugar

¼ cup butter, melted and cooled

1 tsp vanilla extract

2 cups Bob’s Red Mill Regular Rolled Oats (SWS #17814)

1 tsp baking powder

½ tsp salt

½ tsp ground cinnamon

¼ tsp ground ginger

¼ tsp ground nutmeg

2 cups chopped fresh pears (about 2 whole)

Optional Garnishes

Whipped cream

Pear slices

Freshly grated nutmeg

Baking Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 325°F convection.
  • Butter or oil a 9"x9” baking dish or individual baking dishes and set aside.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together water (or milk or juice), eggs, brown sugar, cooled melted butter and vanilla extract. 
  • Add Bob’s Red Mill Regular Rolled Oats, baking powder, salt and spices. Mix to combine.
  • Fold chopped pears into the oat mixture.
  • Portion oat mixture into prepared baking dish(es) and bake until set, about 35 - 45 minutes for a 9"x9” baking dish, 20 – 25 minutes for individual baking dishes.

Keep warm to serve and garnish as desired.
