During this challenging time for our customers, employees, and nation, we want to reassure you that our commitment to you is stronger and more steadfast than ever. We are working diligently to take proper precautions to respond to the COVID-19 crisis and keep you, your families, and our team members feeling safe and secure.

CHEF’STORE Health and Safety Measures

Our company is closely monitoring the COVID-19 pandemic and developing action plans for both associate and customer needs, drawing upon many resources, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), to make informed, fact-based decisions. 

We have taken many critical actions to support the health and safety of our employees and customers during this time, including allowing more time for cleaning and sanitizing, implementing social distancing measures throughout our stores, and providing personal protective equipment for employees.

  • Social distancing measures are in place - In order to create a safer environment for employees who must be present in our facilities, we’ve implemented strict workplace social distancing measures. Additionally, we’ve put in place clear in-store signage to reinforce social distancing, including limiting customers in each aisle and proper spacing at checkout. We’ve also expanded our work-from-home guidelines and suspended all non-essential visitors across all locations.  
  • Barriers and new protocols at checkout counters - We’ve equipped all of our checkout counters with sneeze guards to create a barrier between customers and employees. 
  • Enhanced sanitization measures and protocols - We’ve implemented enhanced hygiene practices and cleaning procedures, such as adjusting store hours to allow for more sanitizing, and are providing additional sanitation products to all of our facilities. We are also performing cleanings three times daily of frequently contacted surfaces such as, including carts, door handles, and all common areas. Register areas including pin pads, counters, and scales are being sanitized more frequently. 
  • Masks Policy - In following the guidance of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control in their recent announcements around mask usage due to COVID-19 and the effectiveness of the vaccines, US Foods® CHEF’STORE® is revising our policies regarding mask usage within our store locations. According to the CDC, fully vaccinated individuals---those who are two weeks past their second dose of a two-dose series (Pfizer or Moderna), or two weeks from the time of the vaccination in a one-dose (Johnson & Johnson)---no longer need to wear a mask in most settings.
    Following the lead of the CDC, effective May 15, 2021, we have modified our policy for some of our CHEF’STORE locations. (revised 6/10/21)
  • U.S. locations with no state or local mask requirements - revised policy In CHEF’STORE locations where the state or local jurisdiction does not have a mask mandate for fully vaccinated individuals, we will allow our customers and employees who are fully vaccinated (two weeks or more past their final vaccination) to enter our locations without a face mask.  We will not require proof of vaccination for customers in any of our stores, and so we will continue to require masks where local laws require fully vaccinated individuals provide proof of vaccination before entering businesses without a face covering.  Customers who are not fully vaccinated should follow CDC guidance and continue to wear face coverings in all of our stores. 
  • U.S. locations with state or local mask requirements - no policy change In CHEF’STORE locations where the state or local jurisdiction does have a mask mandate, we will follow the state or local regulations and continue to require our employees and customers wear a face mask or face shield regardless of vaccination status.  If a customer has a medical condition that prevents them from wearing a mask, they must wear a face shield.  If no face shield is available we will work with the customer to provide another reasonable accommodation. 

 Why are you not making people wear a mask?

We are following the guidance from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.  The CDC recently updated their mask guidance for individuals that have been fully vaccinated.  For more information please visit: www.cdc.gov
