Thick-cut bologna gets a foodie treatment with flavorful swiss cheese and peppery arugula. This sassy sandwich is great for an effortless lunch where you want to be satisfied but still need the energy to prepare your holiday meal. It’s also a fun holiday brunch item that will please everyone at the table. Even better, it takes just a few minutes to put it all together!

Hill's Premium Meats “The Sassy Pig” Bologna Sandwich

3 thick slices Hill’s Premium Meats Premium Bologna

3 slices Swiss cheese

1 Ciabatta roll

¼ cup Arugula

Red onion




Cooking Instructions

  1. Heat a medium skillet or griddle pan over medium-high heat. Make a 1-inch “X” in the center of each piece of bologna to keep it from curling up in the skillet.
  2. Wipe the skillet with a stick of butter until lightly greased. Add the Hill’s Premium Meats bologna and fry for a couple of minutes on each side until browned. 
  3. Stack up the slices of Hill’s Premium Meats Bologna in the skillet, placing a Swiss cheese slice between each. Cover with a large inverted bowl and heat until melted.
  4. Butter each side of the Ciabatta roll and lightly grill. Spread the slices of the Ciabatta roll with mayonnaise. Transfer the bologna and cheese to one of the slices of the Ciabatta roll. Top the other side of the Ciabatta roll with slices of red onion, tomato, and arugula. 
  5. Enjoy immediately.
